"Elite Media" Newt Gingrich lashes: Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich torpedo fired by what he calls the "media elite" in the U.S., accusing him of using his ex-wife hours before the South Carolina primary debate on Thursday.
Gingrich gave CNN chief national correspondent John King, who was a discussion, fastening tongue of fire, when he led to questions about allegations that his former wife, made earlier in the day to ask "open marriage" to her divorce in 1999 .
"I think the destructive cycle, the negative nature of most of the media makes it more difficult to govern this country, it is difficult to attract good people to participate in elections, and I am shocked that you start a presidential debate on a topic like this," he said to applause the king.
"In order to make the ex-wife and two days before the first important issue in the presidential campaign as close as possible to the despicable than I could imagine," he said of cheers.
Gingrich added that his daughter wrote to the head of ABC, which published an interview with Marianne Gingrich hours earlier, saying that the story was false and should be removed.
He then criticized CNN, to open the discussion with this kind of "trash."
When the king replied that it was not a story CNN, Gingrich said in anger and said that members of the cable network has decided to use it.
Gingrich refused once again the story of his ex-wife.
"Every close friend, whom I knew at the time, said that the story is not true. We suggested a few of them on ABC, to prove it was false. They were not interested, "he said.
Gingrich is accused of "media elite" in the country to attack the Republican candidates, while protecting the same time, democratic U. S. President Barack Obama.
He received another standing ovation.
The remaining three candidates on stage, Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum and Ron Paul, did not challenge Gingrich on open marriage.
The debate ended with a great day on the campaign with the Republican Santorum was declared the winner in the Iowa caucuses more than two weeks after his apparent second Romney.
Texas Governor Rick Perry, also withdrew from the race and put their support for Gingrich.
