Six years ago, Fresno became the scene of a famous massacre. Marcus Wesson is now on death row for killing 9 of his children.
His victims were children he fathered through incest. In prime-time special called “Family Secrets”, the stories of survivors Wesson family members, including Wesson now ex-wife Elizabeth will be discussed.
Elizabeth Wesson became the final two months ago. She says she has a symbolic value close to her. Marcus Wesson was the control of her life since she was 8 years old.
The story of her family is the focus of the hour special about how she and her children survived decades of mind control, and how they are progressing at present.
Elizabeth Wesson said she does not even begin to see deep scars, her ex-husband left her and her children until several years after the horrific crimes. “It feels like I went out of the fog or something. It took me time to get where I’m at, it really has.”
On Tuesday evening, Elizabeth and her five surviving children share the pain that they suffered under the constant supervision of the convicted murderer Mark Wesson.
Elizabeth said that her family has opened and spoke candidly with correspondent Jay Schadler about what they have done to cope with extreme physical and sexual violence. “This is the first time when they verbally express what they are experiencing. And It’s Gonna Be hard for me to watch. It is very hard.”
Stranded family life led under the authority Wesson came to an end in March 2004, when the police arrived at Fresno in the domestic dispute at the Central House Family Fresno. After a brief standoff the officers were to find the bodies of nine piled in the corner, all shot.
Murder over a family secret group hid for many years. Life beatings, abuse and incest. Even today, the exchange, as they existed hard.
“The questions I was not prepared for the questions that they ask you know I tried to answer as honestly as I could, and brought many memories that I really do not want to remember at all.
As part of this history, the family returned to the places they lived with Wesson … How to Tomales Bay in Northern California. Although the family is almost always lived together, they were isolated from the world. Travel reminded Elizabeth of emotional trauma, her children will always be.
“Seeing the pain on the faces of my children. Because after we did shooting it took us about a week or two to get on this. Because it is very painful.”
The first Fresno police officer who arrived on the scene that day also spoke about his experiences. Eloy Escareno was the first to go in and confirm that the other family members had already assumed.
