Fake Terror Threat At Chicago Area

Today's news that federal authorities had uncovered a plot to send packets of explosives from Yemen to a Jewish organization in the Chicago area, raised worldwide fears of possible terrorist attacks, according to AP.

Some on the right have criticized the president's announcement today Obama, which comes four days before the midterm elections, calling it simply a "false alert of terror."
But given the months of campaign we've been through, especially in these congressional races are surprised that the war against terrorism and the wars America is involved in overseas did not play a major role in debate?

Jobs, economy, Social Security, health care and federal spending dominated the debate among candidates.
Almost no mention was given to national security or the military.
What do you think?
