Bihar Election Results Live Updates Bjp Vs JDU

The JD (U)-BJP alliance in Bihar is headed for a landslide victory for the second term. The results are a setback to the RJD, LJP and Congress combined.
Among the prominent winners are the BJP Minister Renu Devi who defeated Congress nominee Madan Mohan Tiwari by about 15,000 votes in the constituency Bettiah.
Other winning highlights include Nand Kishore Yadav of the BJP, Hari Narayan Singh and Patel Brisha of JD (U), all ministers in the outgoing government and the State JD (U) chief Vijay Kumar Chaudhary.
Chandra Mohan Rai BJP candidate defeated his nearest rival BSP Ejaj Hussain for more than 13,000 votes Chanpatia Assembly constituency. In the Ramnagar constituency reserved, Bhagirathi Devi of the BJP has also been declared elected. In Narkatiaganj, Satish Chandra Dubey of the BJP defeated his nearest rival Om Verma Congress by a margin of about 10,000 votes.
In Raxaul, Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh of BJP defeated JPL Rajnanadan Rai by about 6,000 votes. JD (U) candidate Prabhat Ranjan Singh has won the seat defeating Mohd Bagaha BSP. Kamran by about 20,000 votes, Manorama Prasad, the JD (U) has been elected from the seat defeating CPI leader Nauta Gallu Choudhary by about 6,000 votes, while Rajesh Kumar also of JD (U) has been chosen to defeat Valmiki Nagar an independent candidate deep Narain Mahato by over 14,000 votes. In the district of Nalanda, Shrawan Kumar of JD (U) has been declared elected. In the district Baikunthpur, Manjeet Kumar Singh of JD (U) has been chosen.
In SIKT Constituent Assembly, Dilip Verma, Independiente has defeated his nearest rival Fakruddin, also independent for more than 5000 votes. Another independent candidate Vinay Bihari Lauria won the seat beating his nearest rival Pradip Singh of JD (U) for more than 5,000 votes. Ramanand Yadav of RJD won the seat Fattouh. Kesaria Darauli reserved seats have been in favor of the BJP, while Bihar Sharief has been pocketed by JD (U).
Voter turnout was higher this time around 52.43 percent compared to 45.85 percent in the Assembly elections last time in 2005.
The Congress is the only party that has contested all the 243 constituencies followed by BSP 239. NDA-BJP components contested 102 seats, while Janata Dal (Spain) 141. The RJD and its ally contested LJP 168 and 75 seats respectively. CPI contested 56 seats and CPM 30.
The Chief Minister Mr. Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, BJP State President Dr. CPThakur and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav are among prominent political leaders who did not contest the Assembly elections.
