David Rabe Wife Jill Clayburgh died at Age 66

Star of stage and screen, Jill Clayburgh died Monday, November 05, at the age of 66. Clayburgh lost a 21-year battle with chronic leukemia. Clayburgh is survived by her husband, the playwright David Rabe, and their daughter, Lily Rabe, who is currently starring in the Broadway production of "The Merchant of Venice."
Clayburgh was born in New York, and appeared in numerous Broadway productions in the 1960 and 1970, including The Rothschilds and Pippin. Clayburgh made her screen debut in The Wedding Party, filmed in 1963 but not published until six years later, and released with roles as the love interest of Gene Wilder in the 1976 mystery comedy "Silver Streak", co -starring Richard Pryor.
She was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress in 1978 for a single woman, for which he won the "Award for Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival, and for 1979 a fresh start, a comedy starring Burt Reynolds. She also received strong notices for a spectacular performance in I'm Dancing as fast as possible.
His other films include "Portnoy's Complaint, Gable and Lombard, the daughter of an owner of professional football team in semi-hard, as a mathematician in It's My Turn, as a conservative Supreme Court Justice on the first Monday in October in the Moon, a controversial role in Bernardo Bertolucci film criticism.
In 2006, she appeared on Broadway in Neil Simon's Barefoot in the Park with Patrick Wilson and Amanda Peet, Peet she played the mother, a role originated by Mildred Natwick. She also returned to the screen as the wife of an eccentric therapist in the all-star comedy drama Running With Scissors.
