Although it was considered the majority leader, Reid still had to fight his way through a horrible choice to remain a senator representing the state of Nevada.
Reid was against Sharron Angle, who became very popular in the tea party after his claim that Reid would not be strong enough to impose a real action to address any problem with illegal aliens in this country.
While the angle to put up a good fight, Reid eventually won the election by a comfortable margin. Reid ended up receiving more than 360,000 votes, which was good enough for 55% of the total votes. Angulo took home most of the remaining 45%.
