Prop. 19 results - 2010 California election results and the voters rejected Proposition 19, the proposal to have legalized marijuana for recreation for adults 21 years and allowing them to legally possess and grow the drug, and as to enable the State to tax on commercial sale thereof.
Despite the defeat of Proposition 19: Similar to return in several states in 2010, including Colorado and Nevada. Some analysts predict it could become a problem of mobilization for the youth vote, which in turn could help Obama's reelection prospects.
Proposition 19 supporters also boosted by a new Gallup poll shows that national support for the legalization of marijuana has reached a high of 46 percent.
