Dancing With The Stars Season 12:wendy williams Performance In 2011

The dancing was pretty rough or maybe more stiff but c’mon she isn’t a professional dancer. Wendy Williams seemed like she was pretty upset about the performance and her and her partner got the worst score of the evening. Their score was a mere 13 out of 30. Don’t worry little miss Wendy Williams, it was only one dance!
Wendy Williams was accused of being “timid” in her dancing. Yes, that was true but maybe the cha cha was not the right dance for her, it takes a lot of wiggling and shakin. She doesn’t have a stripper background like Kendra Wilkinson to back her up. Wendy Williams most exercised part of her body is her mouth so getting the rest into action can take a little time.
The outfit that she was wearing did not do her justice either. Wow, it was simply hideous at the bottom. The top showed off her assets nicely but the bottom just made her look like a big frilly – something. Hopefully wardrobe will get it together for Wendy Williams soon.

Dancing With The Stars Season 12 In 2011

“Dancing with the Stars” returned for its twelfth season with football star Hines Ward, actor Ralph Macchio, talk show host Wendy Williams, Playboy model Kendra Wilkinson, boxer Sugar Ray Leonard and other notables.
But the real question for many viewers was “How would actress Kirstie Alley do?”
Alley, a veteran of the big screen, small screen and reality programming, had been pumping up her appearance on the show on Twitter. “GOOD morning my darling leading man…you will be as remarkable tonight as you always have been….lead me Maks..Lead me” she tweeted before the season premiere, in a shout-out to dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
Ward, a wide receiver with the Pittsburgh Steelers, did the cha-cha-cha with  partner Kym Johnson. He drew solid scores from the judges; ex-football players have a history of doing well on the show. If you can move well while dodging 200 lbs.-plus men, DWTS is not an intimidating prospect.
Radio host “psycho” Mike Catherwood and Lacey Schwimmer received low scores, but the judges said they’d have the opportunity to redeem themselves. Catherwood seemed a little overwhelmed by the big stage, and joked about how he was the least-well-known “star” on the program. He was right–and to make matters worse, he was just about as graceful as you’d expect a guy nicknamed psycho to be. His fox-trot was a herky-jerky affair when it should have been smooth. Actual foxes are more rhythmic.
Macchio, the former star of the “Karate Kid” franchise, wondered aloud about how his 49-year-old body would hold up. (In Hollywoodland is 49 now considered to be a senior citizen?)  But he did just fine with partner Karina Smirnoff, and the judges praised his elegant footwork, though they saw room for improvement. Macchio’s character faced bigger challenges in “The Karate Kid” and things turned out pretty well.
Alley was left for last, and posted impressive scores from the judges. She seemed to be enjoying her time on the dance floor and in the spotlight, though her nerves were evident. With growing confidence and flowing moves, she danced the cha-cha-cha to Cee-Lo Green’s song “Forget You.” The fact that after all her tweeting and promoting that she had a few butterflies will probably only endear her to more voters.

Lee Dewyze In American Idol Show 2011

Ryan Seacrest starts this segment giving a shout-out to Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez's collaborator on On the Floor, who's in the audience.
Now it's time for Lee DeWyze and his new single, Beautiful Like You. And Lee looks lost, almost like he doesn't know the words to his own song. Eventually he remembers what he's doing and finishes the song, but he still struggles with the high notes. Still. Honestly, I think at least a half-dozen of this year's contestants could have done the song at least as well. I'll be stunned if Beautiful Likes You outperforms Sweet Serendipity at radio.
"It's great to be back," says Lee. Ryan asks what advice he has for this year's crew.
"Just remember why you tried out in the first place," he says. "You guys are fine, no matter what happens."

Japan Nuclear Crisis

What does Japan’s nuclear crisis mean to us, a safe 10,000 kilometres away?First of all, it deals a jolting blow to the campaign against climate change.
That drive was already stumbling from its failure to get a credible international accord to curb greenhouse gases. Still, nuclear energy had become one of the few bright points. Its proponents were able to sell U.S. President Barack Obama and the leaders of many other countries on the atom’s providential greenness. The argument was that nuclear plants spewed no greenhouse gases and they’d suffered no substantive mishap during the 25 years since the Chernobyl disaster, a fluke attributed to a long-abandoned technology.
Now, the industry’s clean image has gone up in Fukushima’s flames. Nuclear plants’ horrifying vulnerability to accidents is obvious to all. Given a choice between coping with droughts and storms or tingling with radioactivity, most people would choose the former. Fallout can turn a vast territory into a death trap for many years.
Already, several countries that had been considering more nuclear plants – Switzerland, Austria, the Philippines – are backing off. So will other countries. In Ontario, whose five nuclear plants produce half of all that province’s electricity, Premier Dalton McGuinty is feeling pressure to rethink his plan to expand the number of reactors. Although Quebec’s modest nuclear program accounts for just three per cent of the province’s power, Premier Jean Charest is getting heat this week about his $2-billion plan to renovate the plant at Bécancour.
To be sure, many countries will keep on building nuclear plants. But there’ll be a significant decrease in worldwide demand for them. Last month’s projections for a robust increase in nuclear energy’s share of the world’s electricity supply (it now stands at 14 per cent) will need to be revised downward. And that means the demand for the chief villain behind climate change, fossil fuels, will be even greater than now.
This means the long-term market for Quebec’s hydrocarbons – shale gas and oil – is going to be stronger than ever.
Japan’s calamity affects Quebec indirectly also in another way. Numerous plants in the U.S. use the same model of containment vessel as the stricken Fukushima plant. Steel-and-concrete containment vessels are the last line of defence against severe radiation leaks. The model in question, designed by General Electric in the 1960s, has long been under fire from safety regulators. The New York Times reported Wednesday that in 1972 an official with the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission said the model was unacceptably hazardous. One problem: hydrogen buildup could cause an explosion and breakage – precisely what appears to have happened at one of Fukushima’s reactors. A Nuclear Regulatory Commission official underscored this concern a decade later.
The Times said that this same model is in use in 23 reactors in 16 U.S. locations. At least half, which are in the Midwest or in upstate New York, are upwind of normal air currents reaching southern Quebec. General Electric has made improvements on the existing vessels, but the adequacy of the changes will no doubt be the subject of debate.
The Fukushima tragedy could also lead to greater public demand for investment in truly green forms of energy. The billions of dollars that governments devote to building and decommissioning plants and (someday) disposing of nuclear waste would be far better spent on developing wind, tidal, solar or geothermal energy.
But the ultimate responsibility lies not with governments but with us. A generation ago, we lived perfectly well in houses fitted for 60 amperes of electric current. Today – because of our “need” for larger homes (despite smaller families), more appliances and electronic gizmos – new homes are commonly built with 200-amp service. And then there’s our yen for obese cars.
