Indianapolis 500 Motor Speedway:Andretti And Ryan Hunter-Reay

Sunday's "Bump Day" at Indianapolis Motor Speedway had another thrilling conclusion, as Marco Andretti's last qualifying run bumped his Andretti Motorsports teammate, Ryan Hunter-Reay, out of the starting lineup for the May 29 Indianapolis 500 -- the centennial anniversary of this prestigious motor racing event.
A majority of the six-hour session was interrupted by rain, with the first delay lasting two hours and the second one taking one hour, 30 minutes.
The session resumed with 75 minutes remaining, as Danica Patrick made it into next Sunday's 500-mile race with a strong qualifying run.
During the final 10 minutes, Alex Lloyd's four-lap average speed of 223.957 m.p.h. was good enough to bump Andretti. It also put Hunter-Reay on the bubble at the time.
Andretti made it on to the track for his final attempt with less than one minute to spare. His average speed of 224.628 m.p.h. was good enough to put him on the inside of row 10 (28th starting spot).
"I had all the faith in the world with my [crew]," Andretti said. "It was a bummer that we were in this position, but we were plenty quick enough yesterday. There were plenty of circumstances that put us in this position."
