International House of Prayer is Serving up Free Pancakes in Today: International House of Pancakes (IHOP) customers across the country to enjoy the free stack of pancakes known restaurant chain on Tuesday in an effort to raise money and awareness for children’s hospitals Miracle Network.
Steve Bishop, director of regional marketing for IHOP, said it was the seventh year that IHOP held to raise funds. For each stack of buttermilk pancakes for free offers to voluntarily donate their children Miracle Network hospital in the region, he said.
“We gave free food before,” said Bishop. “But I think that a free stack of pancakes is associated with the donation to Children’s Hospital really brings people out of the woods. People may feel good to get something for free, and it’s for the better.”
In Stamford, IHOP is located on Hospital Foundation Maria Fareri Children in the summer at Westchester Medical Center. Andy LaGuardia, director of communications at Children’s Hospital of Westchester-based, said local IHOPs raised $ 12,000 for the hospital last year, and the place of Stamford has collected about $ 700.
“We appreciate the fact that IHOP is raising money for our hospitals,” said LaGuardia. “The true spirit of this event is that people are kind enough to donate to help a child who is very ill or seriously wounded. While people can go to IHOP and spend their free stack of pancakes, they can feel good knowing that they helped a child or family that needs it most. ”
Bishop said the business is usually doubled in 1530 IHOPs participate in the national restaurant chain Pancake fundraiser.
“Most clients come to IHOP in the day than usual,” said Bishop. “This is a day of fun, and it is with good reason.”
During the summer the streets of IHOP, Stamford student Julio Sanchez said that he was a big fan of a pancake restaurant, and happy to get a free stack of them, helping the charity.
“I love IHOP pancakes,” said 17-year-old. “And I just finished the fight of the season, so I’m in the life of elimination of many of them today. I am glad that at least one stack will be free, because the money I left on will go to charity.”
Stamford resident Nick deJongh said he is a regular customer at the IHOP restaurant is excited and giving away free pancakes.
“Everyone loves a free meal,” said deJongh. “I just want the line was not so long, but worth the wait.”
Last year, IHOP earned $ 2.5 million Children’s Miracle Network hospitals, the bishop said, and he hopes to raise $ 2.7 million this year.
