Embattled Megachurch Makes Big Change

Crystal Cathedral congregation in Calif relocating: Crystal Cathedral to get a new name and company megachurch financially hurt Orange County will move its senior pastor, said Sunday.

The Ministry Center will be renamed in the hope of Christ, Sheila Schuller Coleman said in a brief video on the Crystal Cathedral.

The announcement of the new place will be taken in the coming weeks, she said.

The church sold its iconic cathedral glass of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange last month to get out of federal bankruptcy protection.

"We're going to need a new home sooner than we thought. And we're going full speed," said the pastor.

She gave no indication that the meeting will be in Orange County, where the department since its founding father, the Rev. Dr. Robert Schuller, drive in theater 42 years ago.

Robert Schuller resigned in 2006 after seeing service in the world televangelist empire.

On Saturday, he and his wife, Arvella, announced that they have left the Board of Directors of the Crystal Cathedral. The pair brought the failure of the negotiations on financial claims against the church, as part of bankruptcy proceedings.

The lawyer, Robert Schuller, Charles Grumer, said Saturday about the future role of the pastor of the ministry "in the air."

Calls to the press council Crystal weekend were not immediately returned.

The church collected donations of millions through his "Hour of Power" broadcasts, but a series of financial setbacks led to the filing of a mega-church for bankruptcy in October 2010 and the forced sale of its 40-acre (16 hectare) campus.

Turbulence is included in the Ministry of shooting his daughter Gretchen Schuller Penner and his two sons-in-law last week.
