Gaddafi's Libya Seeks Transfer of The Chief Spy of Mauritania

Gaddafi's Libya Seeks Transfer of The Chief Spy of Mauritania: Libya said Sunday that he would send a delegation to Mauritania, to insist on the extradition of intelligence chief Abdullah Muammar Gaddafi al-Senussi, and Interpol has called for his transfer to the rule of law in the State in North Africa.

Senussi, 62, last significant related Gaddafi on the run since the fall of the dictator and the death of a popular uprising last year, was arrested in the West African state after arriving on a flight Friday night from Morocco.

Senoussi was the head of security in the capital, Nouakchott Mauritania, he said the sources, and, according to diplomatic sources, he wore several fake passports, when the prisoners.

Despite the support of Interpol, the interim government of Libya may be involved in a legal tug of war with France and the International Criminal Court (ICC) on Senoussi, because they also want to check.

Senussi, who for decades has inspired fear and hatred among many Libyans wanted by the International Criminal Court in The Hague on charges of crimes against humanity during attacks on security forces are fighting against Gaddafi protesters in the first eight months of the uprising.

Interpol, the International Organization of Police based in Lyon, France, said he has issued a red notice at the request of Libya Senoussi requesting member states to arrest if found on their land for fraud offenses, including theft and abuse of power for personal gain.

The representative of the Libyan government said on Saturday in Tripoli had sent a request for extradition through Interpol Senoussi, and France filed competing requests for extradition, according to a source from the presidential palace.

Interpol issued red notice Senoussi at the request of the International Criminal Court in September 2011 for crimes against humanity.

"Interpol to support efforts by Libya to achieve his goal of rebuilding their country and the principle of rule of law, and clearly their request to the Interpol red notice Senoussi is a clear demonstration of their commitment to international police cooperation, and justice", the agency chief Ronald Noble said in a statement.

"Targeting and arrest of persons involved in the theft and makes them accountable for their actions in court to help Libya achieve its goals," said Noble.

Fighting the Libyan authorities to provide an intermediate rival militias - who helped to overthrow Gaddafi - and the people under control casts doubt on their ability to ensure a fair trial of the old regime.

But Tripoli insisted Senussi get a good justice there, while France, confirming that it has played an important role in his arrest in Mauritania, wants to try it in the 1989 explosion of the plane on the Niger, including 54 French nationals were killed.

MISSION TO LIBYA MAURITANIA

The Libyan Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Elshlmani Saad said that the ministry is in contact with his counterpart, Mauritania, adding that the delegation would travel to Mauritania, which may include the Deputy Prime Minister.

Asked about the delegation, Elshlmani said: "Soon."

France, which has led Western support for the rebels who overthrew the Gaddafi with NATO air strikes, said that cooperating with the authorities in the Moorish Senoussi detention ahead of his extradition request.

In a statement from the office of French President Nicolas Sarkozy said, Senoussi was convicted in absentia for the bombing of UTA flight in which 170 people were killed. Families of the dead, he immediately demanded a trial in France.

A spokesman said on Saturday an arrest warrant from the ICC ICC for the Senussi remained and asked that it be implemented.

ICC charges Senussi Qadhafi and his son Saif al-Islam captured in the desert of southern Libya in November as "indirect co-authors" of murder and persecution of Libyans who had rebelled against the veteran dictator.
