7.2 Magnitude Strong Earthquake Hit South-Western Pakistan

Today A very strong earthquake measuring 7.2 has beaten southwestern Pakistan, in a desert area bordering Iran and Afghanistan, the U.S. Geological Survey, said.

The quake occurred at 0123 on Wednesday (2023 GMT Tuesday), about 55 km (34 miles) west of Dalbandin in Pakistan.

U.S. seismologist Don Blakeman, said the depth of the earthquake was revised to be deeper than previously thought - potentially limit the effects.
