India is ready to show his strength and power to the world this Republic Day Jan. 26, the R-day parade will certainly be a proud moment for Indians around the world when India shows its various achievements in the area of defense technology, including the latest developed indigenous Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) which debuted in the sky recently.
The trainer version of the LCA will be displayed in a frame in the parade. The BrahMos cruise missile will be shown in full force. The missile is an Indo-Russian joint venture that has a target range of 290 km and is said to be only one of its kind that can play at supersonic speeds up to Mach-3 (three times the speed of sound).
India's military power is witnessed in all its glory by the President, Prime Minister and the ministers in the government, besides other dignitaries. Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, will be the chief guest at this year's Republic Day.
India Air Force show their strength with a fly past 25 aircraft, including frontline Sukhoi, Jaguar and MiG-29 to fire the sky this year. The Army is teaming up with three Indians 'Dhruv' Advanced Light Helicopters (ALHS) of its air wing as well.
"Contingent marching on the Rajpath include troop of 61 mounted cavalry, mechanized columns and eight regiments of the army, navy, air force, coastguard and other paramilitary forces," the parade of the second in command and the Army Deputy Commanding General Delhi Area Brigadier Kuldeep Singh said. The commander of the parade will be the General Commander Delhi Area General Manvendra Singh.
The parade will begin with the National Health and Ashok Chakra award of the Grand Laishram Jyotin Singh, who lost his life fighting against a suicide bomber in India Embassy in Kabul. "The parade will begin with the three awarded Param Vir Chakra Rajpath march, followed by mounted cavalry, mechanized columns and other contingents march," said Colonel AS Mahela to inform the media in the parade.
