Oprah s Secret Leaked Out

Oprah Winfrey has a half sister named Patricia, who was given up for adoption by Winfrey's mother, Vernita Lee, shortly after his birth in 1963.
That is the great secret.
"Patricia is my half sister he never knew existed," he told Oprah Monday.
Patricia - whose name was not released - was abandoned by the mother of Oprah, because I wanted to get off welfare and knew that if I had another child, it might be impossible. Lee said she "could not care for" his new daughter.
Patricia lives in foster homes until he was 7 years, including some who were not "so good", said on Monday. Patricia said she always hoped her back for her biological mother.
At 17, Patricia was a single mother. She has two sons, one daughter and one son.
"Oh, my God, I have a family," was his reaction when he learned he had three children, Patricia, said. One of the brothers, the only one still alive, is Winfrey.
Just before Thanksgiving, Winfrey said she was told "a family secret bomb." The story would have become public and has "exploded" in the end, Winfrey said, "so you wanted to know me first."
Patricia is several inches shorter than Winfrey, but the half-sisters are similar in appearance, with a round face and the same smile.
Winfrey said she had no idea that his mother had given up a baby when she was 9 years old and lives with his father, Vernon Winfrey in Nashville.
Winfrey said in the previews for the news show, literally shook me to my heart "and called the meeting" a miracle. "
How did the reunion happen? Patricia Lee said he saw a television interview discussing his three children, acknowledged and began to put the pieces together. His son, Andrew, went online and found the dates of birth of siblings Patricia, including Winfrey. "We realized that Oprah could be my sister," said Patricia. That was in 2007. Lee and Patricia both still live in Milwaukee.
Patricia had with Winfrey in secret because of concerns that would create a media frenzy. "I do not want to hurt him," said Patricia.
Winfrey called their first meeting "a moment dear."
Patricia then brought on stage. Winfrey filled with tears as soon as she sat next to her half-sister and shook hands.
Last week, Winfrey, and Patricia visited her mother in Milwaukee. Winfrey said her mother recently had a small stroke.
In a taped segment, Lee said he was "very shocked" to know that Patricia had been trying to get there. "I thought it was a terrible thing for me that I had done - I gave my daughter when she was born," said Lee.
Lee said he tried to find her baby shortly after birth to Patricia and told him "that he had."
It was asked how he felt, Patricia cried and said: "I always felt that there needed to give me, and she said she came back for me, it means a lot."
Winfrey said her mother "is still stuck in 1963" and even has an "embarrassment" Patricia's birth, so his reluctance to meet his daughter in his life now.
"You can let go of shame," said Winfrey at the camera, addressing his mother. "You can move forward."
