Freshman and sophomore Mallett were not so great. In fact, his completion percentage was not even close to par for a quarterback in the NCAA game. However, this year, under a better line and run offensive game, Mallett has appeared much better. Mallett will have a good supporting cast in this game at night but will definitely have to work hard against a very, very good team tonight, Ohio State Buckeye.
The Buckeye has had a hand some events with some players. Terrelle Pryor and company will be suspended for five games next year, but be allowed to play in tonight's match ups.
So far, the Big Ten has struggled to win in '10-'11 bowl games. The Buckeyes represent the highest level of that particular conference. They have been a power-houses of the Big Ten for some time. Ohio State was in the Sugar Bowl in 2008 against LSU Tigers SEC and could not get away with victory. Have the opportunity to avenge that loss tonight.
If I were a betting man, which would be difficult to make any money on either team. Both are very good and well not just one but both sides of the ball.
The last years Sugar Bowl was about to burst, as it was the last game Florida's Tim Tebow. It did not help Kelly's coach, now coach of Notre Dame, decided that he would rescue his players and no coach in his final game. Whether that had an impact or not is neither here nor there now, but Florida Cincinnati dominated for most of the game. The final score was 51-24. Wait for a bowl game this year would be for a much more exciting as we have not been many so far this year.
