Slights And Surprises Of Oscar Academy Award Nominations 2011

The Academy Award nominations are out. And as always, some pleasant surprises and snubs atrocious emerged.
Here is a summary, followed by a pair of surveys that can vote for the biggest surprise and the biggest oversights among the nominees for this year's Oscar. And feel free to post a comment - or tweet their disgust with the hashtag # oscarshocker - to express about Oscar carelessly and happily included.

N Best Director Christopher Nolan: "Inception", one of the most profitable films, popular and widely dissected the year, received eight nominations, including one for best film. But Nolan - who was recognized by the Directors Guild for his work on the mind-twister - stood out, sparking a lot of latent anger "Dark Knight"-chat on the internet.
No Andrew Garfield for Best Supporting Actor: The distributor of "social networking" heart and soul not to gain recognition from the academy.
N Ryan Gosling for Best Actor: The same goes for the "Blue Valentine" star, who at least has to see his wife on the screen, Michelle Williams, get a little love Oscar. Of course, not necessarily fans can find solace in it.

Mila Kunis No Best Supporting Actress: With Hailee Steinfeld landing in the category of best supporting actress rather than lead, it looks like the dance of Portman and socio-do in the "Black Swan" is encountered.
"The City" can not get a nomination for best picture: As I suggested in my predictions, a couple of decent movies were bound to be beaten in the race for best picture. I stated that "The City" could be one of them. In a crazy turn of events, I was right.

Javier Bardem as best actor: This seemed a distinct possibility given the support behind his work in "Biutiful" but for casual movie fans who have not heard of this dark drama, surely count as one of the surprises of the day.
Michelle Williams as supporting actress: Despite the praise for his work, Williams does not necessarily seem like a sure thing as lead actress contender. But he managed to do in the Big Five.
