Latest News Considering three of the best-selling novels author Terry McMillan, have been adapted to any of the big-or little screen, it's no wonder that her latest project, I get happy, is getting another life celluloid. Twentieth Century Fox has confirmed that they have acquired the recently released sequel to Waiting to Exhale with McMillan and Lori Lakin Hutcherson write the script together.
The two met when writing Hutcherson was an executive at Fox 2000 studio working with Elizabeth Gabler leader in Waiting to Exhale, McMillan's debut novel. McMillan was actually the inspiration Hutcherson to leave her job to take Hollywood screenplays full time. He has since written for a variety of television shows.Fox 2000 plans to act quickly to get to happy, which focuses on the four women in Waiting to Exhale 15 years later.
All are now in their 50 years in his own mid-life crossroads. No word on casting yet, but as an update, the four women in the 1995 film directed by Forrest Whitaker were performed by Whitney Houston, Angela Bassett, Loretta Devine and Lela Rachon. How cool would it be to bring them back for another round?
