Baylor Lady Bears took care of what they call "unfinished business" when they defeated Notre Dame 80-61 on Tuesday night.
"Now you can see that we have done something," said sophomore Odyssey Sims.
Baylor is the first team in NCAA Division I history to finish the season with 40 victories, he does with the RPI in the country.
"We finally did it," said Greener. "Unfinished work will be completed."
Lady Bears to become the seventh undefeated champion of the National Basketball women, joining Texas (1986), Tennessee (1998) and Connecticut (1995, 2002, 2009, 2010).
"There is no point in a 40-0 right now", Baylor coach Kim Mulkey said. "Because the only words that come out of our mouth is now" national champions ".
Junior Britney Griner and Jordan Sims and Madden never won a championship in high school.
"I'm so happy," said Malki. "The old adage," You're so happy you cry, I can not stop crying. "
Griner was the most outstanding player of the tournament and All-Tournament team consisted of The Sims, Baylor junior Destiny Williams, Notre Dame junior Skylar Diggins and Stanford Ogwumike main Neka.
"It's the dedication that we have," Williams said. "We have a lot of work in the summer. We're just happy to finally have a championship. We are ready to celebrate and enjoy with family and teammates. "
Griner led Lady Bears with a double-double in points 26 and 13 rebounds on Tuesday. Sims had 19 points and four transmission.
Baylor shot 50 percent from the floor in the evening, and only allows the Irish to 35 percent.
"Our defense is what has led us all year," Williams said. "We are disappointed by our opponents. I think our defense is unique."
Junior Skylar Diggins led the Irish with 20 points followed by Kyle McBride 11.
In November, Natalie Novosel scored 28 points in a game against Baylor on Tuesday, but was held without a field goal, finishing with five points from the foul line.
The Irish hit just 36 percent of their shots in the second half while the Lady Bears were 63 percent from the floor, a perfect three for three from behind the arc.
"We will keep people," said Malki. "Everyone talks about the fact that the Notre Dame offense against our defense. We scored 94 in the last time we scored 80 today. We can score points with the best of them. Of Defense to win the championship. Never forget that."
