California liberals would rejoice at the fact that Nancy Pelosi, has retained his seat in the house, despite the beating the Democrats have received at the hands of the Republicans in yesterday's elections in the medium term.

The Republicans won over 60 seats in yesterday's elections to gain control of the House. However, the Republicans took control of the House of Representatives last night and it is certain that Pelosi now quit after speaker to make way for John Boehner, who was the leader of the minority.
It is unclear whether Pelosi will head back for another term because traditionally when speakers of the House to get ousted retire from active politics.
