Jay Carney Become obama spokesman, he is former Time magazine reporter ,the White House said, completing a staff-driven reorganization Democratic losses in last year's elections.
Bill Daley, Obama's new business chief of staff, announced the appointment of Carney, along with a bunch of other changes in an email to the staff of the White House on Thursday.
Carney, who is now communications director for Vice President Joe Biden, will replace Robert Gibbs, an Obama confidante, who previously said he would be leaving the White House to make speeches and become an external consultant in 2012 Obama campaign re-election.
Gibbs, said in an email that the transfer would take place in the coming weeks.
Other changes include the installation personnel Ron Bloom, who led the working group of the present White House as an aide to Obama for making policy and Nancy-Ann DeParle, who helped lead the president's drive to reform health, as deputy chief of staff for policy.
Alyssa Mastromonaco serve as deputy chief of staff for operations and Rob Nabors, a former budget officer, will head the office of legislative affairs.
"I believe these decisions will bring greater clarity to our structure and functions and improve coordination and collaboration between us," Daley said in his email.
