News Alerts 12 Dead Bodies Found In Brisbane Toowoomba Due To Flood

The official death toll from flash floods in the region west of Brisbane Toowoomba has increased to 12 with the discovery of two more bodies.

Both were men and were found in and around Lyon Grantham bridge in the Lockyer Valley. One of them was found inside a residence and was found in a creek, said Queensland Premier Anna Bligh at a press conference this afternoon.

Earlier, the official number of people listed as missing was revised more than 90 to 67.

Many of the missing are in Toowomba City, 130 km west of Brisbane, who on Monday was hit by an "inland by the tsunami flood after superstorm dumped 150 mm of rain in 30 minutes .

In a press conference this afternoon (CET), Ms Bligh said the search and rescue operations to find the missing could take several days.

The coroner has been to the Lockyer Valley, where most of the recent deaths have been, as eight teams of expert guidance.

Flooding continues across the state, with many villages were flooded for the second time in 10 days, Ms Bligh said.
