Randy Edsall Fired From Connecticut

Randy Edsall, who diligently worked to build the Connecticut football program into a winner, has been hired to achieve a similar feat at Maryland.

Edsall was chosen Sunday to replace Ralph Friedgen, who was fired after a 10-year career at his alma mater.

Edsall spent 12 years in Connecticut. Led the Huskies to the Division I-AA (now Football Bowl Subdivision) and the Big East, where he won two conference titles and earned playoff appearances in each of the last four seasons.
