Oklahoma Reports of Tornadoes Weekend Weather Forecaster Exam

Forecasters spend the next few days, review the data and observations of tornadoes in the state throughout the weekend.

Weekend tornadoes in Oklahoma meteorologists are keeping busy over the next few days, as they collect data and observations.

Rick Smith, co-ordination meteorologist weather warning National Service Office in Norman, Sunday held a collection of reports damage from a powerful tornado in Woodward argues that the five people and destroying 89 homes.

Smith said that about eight tornadoes were spotted on Saturday in northwestern Oklahoma Ellis County in another alfalfa.

Kevin Brown, chief forecaster, said that the number of tornadoes can be changed after reviewing the reports and spotter storm information.

"We're still in the summary records of the affected northwest Oklahoma," he said. "We will continue to receive reports of damage to the police."

In Waynoka, Brown said a tornado damaged several sheds and oil tank battery before its way into Kansas.

Forecasters said the tornado also can be spotted in the eastern Oklahoma.

On Friday, a tornado wrapped in rain landed in Oklahoma City at Interstate 35 and W Lindsey Street and damaged power lines, trees and houses.

After examining the damage in the region, Brown said that forecasters estimate that the tornado was Norman EF1 with winds over 100 miles / hr He said that, most likely, the storm was much stronger than Woodward.

"Apart from this storm, which formed after midnight that struck Woodward, we had minimal damage," Brown said. "We expect more storms. Conditions were favorable for a storm to form. We are really pleased that we were wrong."
